The Great Supper of God and the Beast's Defeat

Revelation 19:17–21 contrasts the marriage supper of the Lamb with a grim “supper of the great God” in which birds consume the defeated enemies of God. The imagery draws strongly from Ezekiel’s oracle against Gog. The beast and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire, while the assembled armies are decisively defeated by the word-like sword proceeding from Christ.
