The Revelation, Witness, and Blessing

Revelation 1:1–3 introduces the book as the revelation of Jesus Christ, given through an angel to John and intended to be read, heard, and kept. The opening blessing places Revelation within the biblical prophetic tradition: its visions are not offered merely to satisfy curiosity about the future, but to call God’s people to faithful obedience because the appointed time is near.
