Draw Near, Hold Fast, and Do Not Abandon the Assembly
Because of Jesus’ blood, believers have bold access to the holiest by a new and living way opened through the veil, which Hebrews identifies with his flesh. With a great priest over God’s house, the congregation receives three “let us” commands: draw near with a true heart and cleansed conscience, hold fast the confession of hope because God is faithful, and consider how to provoke one another toward love and good works. Meeting together is part of perseverance, especially as the Day approaches. The passage turns the sanctuary argument into communal Christian practice.
