Sacred Rhythms – Rest, Sabbaths, and Feasts
In the next portion of this chapter, God establishes rhythms of rest and remembrance for His people—patterns that are not just practical, but profoundly spiritual. He begins by commanding a Sabbath year: for six years the land is to be sown and harvested, but in the seventh year it must lie fallow so the poor and wild animals can eat what remains. Then comes the weekly Sabbath—six days of work followed by one day of rest.
These commands reflect God's care for all creation—people, land, animals, and the vulnerable. They also reveal His rhythm of grace: life is not just about productivity but about pausing to remember who provides. God’s people are called to trust that He will meet their needs even when they cease striving.
