Water from the Rock – God Provides in Desperate Places
The journey through the wilderness brought the Israelites to Rephidim, a dry and barren place where no water could be found. The people, once again forgetting the faithfulness of God, turned to quarreling with Moses. Their cries were not merely complaints—they were accusations: "Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?"
Moses, burdened by the weight of leadership and the people's hostility, turned to God for help. And once again, God answered with provision. He commanded Moses to strike the rock at Horeb with his staff. When Moses obeyed, water gushed out from the rock, quenching the thirst of a desperate nation.
