The Horn of My Salvation
David sings after deliverance from Saul and his enemies. The opening titles pile up images of refuge—rock, fortress, shield, high tower—before the song narrates how God answered him.
David calls the LORD “the horn of my salvation”; Zechariah announces that God has raised up “an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.” The shared horn-of-salvation image and Davidic setting form a strong canonical echo, though Luke does not introduce the wording as a formal quotation of 2 Samuel 22:3.
