Samuel Intercedes at Mizpah
Start here: Samuel gathered Israel at Mizpah, where they confessed their sins, fasted, and sought the Lord’s mercy. When the Philistines advanced against them, the people pleaded with Samuel to intercede. He offered a suckling lamb as a whole burnt offering to the Lord and cried out on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.
Canonical window: The ark cycle exposes the danger of treating God’s presence as something human beings can manipulate. The LORD defeats idolatry, judges irreverence, restores the ark, calls Israel to repentance, and delivers the nation through Samuel’s intercession. The connection cards below show the specific Scripture links and how strongly each one is supported. This overview does not turn every similarity into a prophecy or type.
