Let My People Go – Confronting Pharaoh with God’s Word
The time had come. Moses and Aaron stood at the gates of Egypt, not as fugitives or slaves, but as messengers of the Most High God. With the courage that only obedience can provide, they entered Pharaoh’s courts and spoke words that would echo across generations: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Let My people go, so that they may hold a festival to Me in the wilderness.”
This wasn’t a request. It was a declaration from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Hebrew people were not Pharaoh’s to command—they belonged to the Lord. Yet Pharaoh’s response was as cold and defiant as Egypt’s towering monuments: “Who is the LORD, that I should obey Him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and I will not let Israel go.”
