Joshua’s Generation Passes Away
The narrative briefly returns to Joshua’s final generation. Israel served the LORD while Joshua and the elders who had seen God’s works were alive; after they died, a generation arose that did not know the LORD or remember those works in the same covenantal way. This transition explains why memory, teaching, and faithful transmission matter so much to the crisis that follows.
