From Moses’ Glory to the Greater Glory of the New Covenant
Paul calls the stone-inscribed ministry associated with Moses glorious, even though it brought condemnation in the face of human sin. He then argues from lesser to greater: if that ministry came with glory, the Spirit’s ministry and the ministry of righteousness possess surpassing and enduring glory. The point is escalation in God’s saving work, not that Sinai was evil.
