Choose Life and Blessing

Deuteronomy 11:26–32 is the movement “Choose Life and Blessing.” Read it inside Moses’ final covenant instruction to Israel on the eastern side of the Jordan as the people prepare for life in the land. The section opens with: “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;” It closes with: “And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.”

Within the book’s larger story, this section advances several important biblical threads. Blessing and Curse: Blessing and curse are set before Israel as the covenant alternatives at the entrance to the land.
