The Allotment for Benjamin
Joshua 18 describes the setting up of the Tent of Meeting at Shiloh, the surveying of the remaining land, and the allotment to Benjamin. Shiloh becomes the central sanctuary while the remaining tribal territories are assigned.
Benjamin’s central allotment later provides a geographic setting in which Moses’ blessing about the beloved dwelling near YHWH can be reread, especially as Jerusalem rises on the Judah–Benjamin border.
