Aaron’s Dead Staff Produces Buds, Blossoms, and Almonds
By morning Aaron’s rod has budded, blossomed, and produced almonds. The sign confirms Aaronic priesthood and is kept as a warning against further rebellion. Hebrews 9 later explicitly remembers “Aaron’s rod that budded” among the sanctuary’s remembered objects.
Test the Tradition: older Christian interpretation often sees dead wood suddenly bearing life as a picture of resurrection and the vindication of Christ’s priesthood. Hebrews remembers Aaron’s rod, but it never explicitly makes that resurrection identification. Treat it as traditional typology, not inspired proof.
