Hezekiah’s Invitation to Passover
2 Chronicles 30:1–12 forms the movement “Hezekiah’s Invitation to Passover.” Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah, inviting them to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of the Lord. He wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, urging them to return to the Lord and not be like their unfaithful ancestors. Some scorned the invitation, but many from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. In Judah, the hand of God gave them unity of heart to carry out the command of the king. This wide invitation reflects God’s mercy, calling His people to repentance and renewal.
