Aaron Sets Up the Seven Lamps
Aaron arranges the seven lamps so they shine toward the front of the lampstand. The passage deliberately reaches back to the golden lampstand commanded in Exodus 25 and notes that it was made according to the pattern shown to Moses. Numbers is showing the sanctuary instructions being put into use.
Exodus commands the golden lampstand and its seven lamps; Numbers 8 records Aaron arranging the lamps so they shine as directed. The later passage therefore shows the sanctuary furnishing moving from design and construction into actual priestly service.
