Do Not Drift from the Greater Salvation
Because the Son is greater than the angels, Hebrews turns immediately from exposition to warning. If the message associated with angels carried real accountability, neglecting the salvation announced by the Lord is even more serious. The warning is about passive spiritual drift as much as open rebellion: the hearers must pay close attention to what they have heard. Hebrews also roots the gospel message in public testimony—announced by the Lord, confirmed by hearers, and accompanied by God’s signs, wonders, powers, and distributions of the Holy Spirit. Theology in Hebrews is never mere information; revelation creates responsibility.
