Laodicea, House Churches, Exchanged Letters, and Paul's Chains
Paul sends greetings to believers in Laodicea, to Nympha/Nymphas, and to the church meeting in that household. He orders the Colossian letter to be read in Laodicea and tells Colossae to read a letter coming from Laodicea. Archippus receives a direct charge to fulfill his ministry. Paul then adds a greeting in his own hand and closes by asking them to remember his bonds.
Where this fits in the story: early Christian letters circulated among neighboring churches, and congregations commonly met in homes. The mention of Laodicea creates a striking canonical bridge forward to Revelation 3, while the house-church and Archippus details connect closely with Philemon.
