Peter Heals Aeneas and Raises Tabitha
Acts 9:32–43 centers on peter heals aeneas and raises tabitha. Peter travels among believers, heals the paralyzed Aeneas at Lydda by explicitly saying 'Jesus Christ maketh thee whole,' and then goes to Joppa after the death of Tabitha (Dorcas). He sends mourners out, kneels to pray, tells Tabitha to arise, and presents her alive, leading many to believe.
The wider biblical story comes into focus here. The healings echo Jesus’ own ministry and the Elijah-Elisha resurrection tradition, yet Acts points the power back to Jesus. Peter’s action resembles Jesus’ raising scenes but he prays first; the apostle is servant-witness, not an independent wonder-worker.
