In His Image — Humanity’s Calling and the Kingdom Story
Humanity enters the story as God’s image-bearers: male and female, blessed and entrusted with responsibility. Genesis 5 carries image and likeness into a family genealogy; Genesis 9 preserves human dignity after the Flood; James applies it to the way we speak to people.\n\nJesus brings Genesis 1 and 2 together when teaching about marriage. Psalm 8 celebrates humanity’s calling, while Colossians speaks of Christ as God’s image and of people renewed after their Creator’s image. These passages carry the image-of-God theme forward through creation, human dignity, Christ, and renewal.
