Reconciled and Presented Holy
The cosmic reconciliation of verse 20 becomes personal: people who were once alienated and hostile in mind, expressed in evil works, are now reconciled through Christ’s physical death. The goal is strikingly priestly and holiness-shaped—to present them holy, unblameable, and unreproveable before God. The paragraph calls for continuing grounded and settled in the faith and in the hope announced by the gospel.
Where this fits in the story: holiness language that once surrounded Israel’s approach to God is now joined to Christ’s reconciling death and to the formation of a holy people. The passage also looks forward to New Testament scenes in which God’s people are presented blameless before him.
