Cast Thy Burden upon the LORD
The final verses return to the treacherous companion whose smooth words conceal war. Against that instability stands the command to cast one’s burden on the LORD, who sustains. The psalm does not promise a life without betrayal; it promises that betrayal does not remove God’s sustaining care.
First Peter 5:7 closely echoes the casting-care pattern when believers are told to cast their anxiety on God because he cares for them. That relationship is stronger than a generic thematic similarity, though it should still be reviewed carefully as a specific allusion rather than automatically labeled a formal quotation.
