The Tree of Life in the Paradise of God
Revelation 2:1–7 addresses Ephesus through the One who holds the seven stars and walks among the lampstands. The church is commended for endurance and discernment but warned that doctrinal vigilance cannot replace its first love. The promise of access to the tree of life reaches back to Eden and points forward to the restored tree of life in Revelation 22.
Revelation 2:7 promises the conqueror the right to eat from the tree of life in the paradise of God. Genesis closes humanity’s access to that tree after sin; Revelation begins to announce its restoration and later places it beside the river of life in the New Jerusalem. The promise therefore compresses the Bible’s movement from lost Eden to renewed creation.
Revelation 2 promises the faithful access to “the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” That language strongly recalls the Tree of Life in Eden and points forward to restored access to what humanity lost after the Fall.
