The Rocks Are a Refuge for the Conies
The Creator sets earth’s bounds, restrains the waters, sends springs, waters creatures, grows vegetation, and provides habitats. The poetry celebrates ordered dependence on God rather than scientific sequencing. Christian creation theology can confess all things made and sustained through Christ, but the details of this section are not direct predictive Christology.
Proverbs 30:26 and Psalm 104:18 use the same Hebrew animal term, šāpān, and both associate the creature with rocky refuge. The lexical and habitat match strongly supports identifying the KJV “conies” as rock hyraxes while also creating a memorable creation-wisdom link.
