The Words of King Lemuel: Do Not Give Thy Strength Away
The final named collection comes through King Lemuel as an oracle taught by his mother. Her opening warning is royal and personal: a king must not squander strength through relationships that destroy kings and compromise the calling to govern well.
Lemuel’s mother warns a king not to give his strength to women in ways that destroy kings; Deuteronomy likewise forbids multiplying wives lest the king’s heart turn away. Royal desire is therefore a covenant leadership issue.
