Scorners, Wrath, Fools, and a King Who Judges the Poor
Scorners can inflame a city while the wise turn away anger. Fools empty their rage, bloodthirsty people hate integrity, and both poor and oppressor receive sight from the same LORD; a king who judges the poor faithfully strengthens his throne.
Proverbs says a king who faithfully judges the poor establishes his throne; Psalm 72 praises the king who delivers the needy and regards their blood as precious. Justice for the poor is therefore part of what makes royal rule righteous and durable.
