Reproof, Righteous Rule, and Justice for the Poor
Repeated refusal of correction can harden into sudden ruin. Public life reflects private character: righteous rulers bring joy, corrupt rulers consume a land through gifts, and a righteous person knows the cause of the poor rather than dismissing it.
Proverbs says righteous rulers bring joy and that the righteous know the cause of the poor; Psalm 72 prays for a king who judges God’s people with righteousness and the poor with judgment.
