The King’s Heart in the Hand of the LORD
Even royal hearts are pictured as channels the LORD can turn. He weighs ordinary hearts too, and doing justice is more acceptable than sacrifice; pride, haste, lying wealth, robbery, and crooked ways cannot be insulated from divine moral judgment.
Proverbs says doing justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice; Hosea declares that God desires mercy and the knowledge of God rather than sacrifice and burnt offerings.
