A Vow, Ephesus, Caesarea, Antioch, and a New Journey
Acts 18:18–23 centers on a vow, ephesus, caesarea, antioch, and a new journey. After a long stay, Paul leaves Corinth with Priscilla and Aquila, cuts his hair at Cenchrea because of a vow, briefly reasons in Ephesus, sails to Caesarea, goes up and greets the church, returns to Antioch, and then travels again through Galatia and Phrygia strengthening disciples.
The wider biblical story comes into focus here. Acts compresses long distances into a few verses, reminding readers that the mission is a network of relationships, repeated visits, and strengthening rather than a sequence of isolated revival scenes.
