Keep Thy Heart with All Diligence
Wisdom is internal before it is external: words are kept before the eyes and in the heart because the heart is the wellspring of life. Mouth, eyes, and feet must then be trained to move in the same direction, making holiness a whole-person orientation rather than a collection of isolated choices.
Hebrews 12:13 closely follows the Greek wording of Proverbs 4:26 about making straight paths for the feet and applies the wisdom image to communal endurance and healing.
