The God of Peace Will Sanctify You Wholly
Paul ends his exhortations by turning sanctification back into prayer. The God of peace himself must sanctify the believers completely and preserve them blameless at Christ’s coming. “Spirit and soul and body” piles up language for the whole person, while verse 24 places confidence not in human self-perfection but in the faithfulness of the God who calls: “who also will do it.”
Where this fits in the story: holiness in 3:13 and 4:3–8 now reaches its doxological climax. The canon consistently joins God’s calling with God’s faithfulness, and the return of Christ gives the horizon. The threefold wording has fueled later debates over whether humans consist of three separable parts, but this blessing alone does not settle a complete philosophical anatomy of the person.
