Sun and moon stand still
Joshua 10 is a chapter of divine intervention and decisive victory. God fought for Israel with supernatural signs and natural forces, demonstrating His power over creation and His commitment to His covenant people.
Habakkuk’s picture of sun and moon standing still amid divine battle strongly recalls Joshua 10, where the heavenly lights stand still while YHWH fights for Israel, though Habakkuk gives no formal quotation formula.
