The Song of Deliverance – Worship After the Waters
The Red Sea had just closed behind them, swallowing Pharaoh’s army in one decisive stroke. Israel stood on the far shore—not as escaped slaves, but as a freed people. And the very first thing they did was sing. Exodus 15 begins with one of the most beautiful responses to God’s power and deliverance in all of Scripture: a spontaneous song of praise known as the Song of Moses.
Moses and the Israelites lifted their voices, saying, “I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. Both horse and driver He has hurled into the sea” (Exodus 15:1). This was no ordinary celebration; it was a declaration that their God had triumphed over the mightiest military force in the world—not with weapons, but with wind and water. He was their strength, their defense, and their salvation.
