Complete This Grace: Christ Became Poor for You
Paul sends Titus to help the Corinthians finish the collection they had begun. He does not issue a coercive command but tests the sincerity of love by comparison with others’ earnestness. His deepest appeal is Christological: though rich, Jesus Christ became poor for their sake, so that through his poverty they might become rich—a pattern of self-giving grace, not a promise that the atonement guarantees material wealth.
