The Valley of Dry Bones Lives Again
Ezekiel is shown a valley full of very dry bones and commanded to prophesy until bodies are reassembled and breath enters them. The book gives its own first interpretation: the bones are “the whole house of Israel” in exilic hopelessness, and God promises national restoration by his Spirit. The vision also becomes a major canonical bridge toward later resurrection hope, but its original meaning should not be replaced by a modern event or by Jesus’ resurrection alone.
