I Sought the LORD: The Poor Man Cried and the Angel Encamped
David testifies that seeking the LORD brought answer and deliverance from fear. “This poor man cried” becomes a model for hearers, and the angel of the LORD encamping around those who fear God adds a vivid image of protection.
The text should not be turned into a guarantee that believers avoid all danger. Psalm 34 itself later admits that the righteous have many afflictions. The promise is God’s saving presence, not a trouble-free life.
