Matthew 28 — Overview
Matthew ends where its first chapter pointed: Jesus is alive, worshipped, and present with his people. The one condemned as Son of Man now declares that all authority in heaven and earth is his. The Gospel that began with 'son of Abraham' sends disciples to all nations, and the child called Emmanuel—'God with us'—closes with 'I am with you alway.'
