Peter Falls; Jesus Is Mocked; the Son of Man Will Sit at God’s Right Hand
Peter denies Jesus three times, remembers the Lord’s word, and weeps. Jesus is mocked and beaten, then questioned by the council. He identifies the future of the Son of man with sitting at the right hand of God’s power.
Where this fits in the story: human witness fails while Jesus’ own confession remains firm. Psalm 110 and Daniel 7 supply the major enthronement and Son-of-Man horizon behind his answer.
Luke leaves Peter broken but not finished. Jesus’ earlier prayer and commission anticipate restoration, and Acts will show Peter speaking publicly where fear once silenced him.
