Before the End: Deception, Upheaval, Persecution, and Witness
When people admire the temple’s stones and gifts, Jesus says a time is coming when not one stone will remain upon another. He warns against false messiahs and premature end-date conclusions, describes wars, upheavals, persecution, betrayal, and death, and says these trials will become occasions for testimony.
Where this fits in the story: prophetic temple judgment and end-time expectation meet, but Jesus begins by warning against deception. “The end” is not to be inferred from every alarming event.
