Receive the Kingdom Like a Child; The Rich Ruler and Impossible Salvation
Jesus welcomes infants and says the kingdom must be received like a child. A wealthy ruler then asks about eternal life, claims commandment observance, but becomes sorrowful when Jesus exposes his attachment to riches. Jesus says it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God. The disciples ask who can be saved; Jesus answers that what is impossible with humans is possible with God.
Where this fits in the story: dependence and possession are placed side by side. The child receives; the rich ruler struggles to release what gives status and security.
